Meet Melissa Orsini

Melissa Orsini began working with her hands as a young child to create unique, artistic expressions. She experimented by sewing doll clothes and knitting in grade school, then graduated to making her own clothes.

Later, she discovered stringing beads which ignited her love affair with jewels, one that carries over to the art she creates today.

Her work includes precious and semi-precious stones that are sourced from around the world, set and woven into her intricate, handcrafted pieces.

To create her stunning work, she uses bronze, sterling silver, fine silver, and gold. Melissa Orsini Jewelry has an old-world feel derived from the heavy influence of Eastern styles and techniques, such as keum-boo and black oxidation. She blends timeless elements of nature into her designs and embellishes them with precious metals, such as 24 karat gold.

A true student of her craft, Melissa frequently travels the country learning advanced jewelry-making techniques from the best in her industry.

Melissa can be found teaching classes and workshops at her Hillcrest studio in Little Rock, Arkansas. Melissa has also taught at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, serving as an instructor in the Jewelry and Small Metals department.

Her pieces are for sale online, in-store at Barbara Jean and in other retail outlets throughout the state. She lives and works in Little Rock, Arkansas, and shares her home with her husband David, their rescue dog Annie and their two studio cats, Daisy and Rosie.
